In 1987, Schneider Electric established a joint venture factory in Tianjin, Meilan Rilan, bringing the circuit breaker skills to China, replacing traditional fuses, has greatly improved the safety of users in China, and made outstanding contributions to the establishment of circuit breaker standards.

In the early 1990s, Schneider Electric's brand, Qisheng, took the lead in bringing the switch panel into China, completing the era of using the light switch in China.

In the 1990s, with the further opening of China’s shopping malls, Schneider Electric’s integration into China was also accelerating. With advanced skills and products, Schneider Electric has fully participated in the construction of many power and infrastructure in China, including the supply of equipment and services for serious projects such as the Three Gorges Project, the West-East Gas Pipeline, the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, and the Ling Ao Nuclear Power Plant. In 2008, Schneider Electric supplied products and solutions for 43 venues and ancillary facilities of the Beijing Olympic Games, and was highly recognized by the Olympic Organizing Committee and the Beijing Power Supply Bureau. In October 2009, Schneider Electric provided excellent power guarantees for the 60th anniversary of China's Christmas celebrations. At the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Schneider Electric provided comprehensive skills support for four pavilions and provided solutions and services for 23 Expo venues.
